Erect tree growing to 20 ft. with 3 - 5" oblong one to three lobed, sharp-pointed dark green leaves that resemble the Sassafrass; bears terminal clusters of star-shaped bright coral-red flowers 1" across

CULTIVATION:
Water moderately; fertilize monthly; bright indirect light

PROPAGATION:
Cuttings or sow seed

COMMENTS:
Produces copious amounts of nectar for butterflies; drought tolerant
