White Bird of Paradise

ORIGIN:
South Africa

DESCRIPTION:
Clump-forming tree with leaf-blades to 5 ft., heart-shaped or rounded at the base of the 6 ft. long leaf stalk; produces 3 - 5 reddish-brown spathes, 16 - 18" long and white flowers 8" long with light purplish-blue corollas; grows to 30 ft.

CULTIVATION:
Water moderately; fertilize monthly; part to full sun (shade from hot afternoon sun)

PROPAGATION:
Divide offsets

COMMENTS:
Immature seeds are sweet and tasty
