Each of our Day Camp and Youth Group Programs are 90 minutes in length.

Day Camps

Program Details

Early Learning Program - Ages 3-5

Hands-on Arts and Crafts
Campers will colour their own butterfly headband to wear and then take home after their visit!

Butterfly Conservatory
In our tropical garden, campers will meet thousands of free-flying butterflies, as well as turtles, goldfish, and 15 species of birds. They will also explore our interactive touch table and observe butterflies emerging from chrysalides and drying their wings.

Insect Encounter and Gallery Exhibits
Campers will have the opportunity to meet some of our live tropical insects up close, look at the inner workings of a live observational beehive, and discover butterfly, moth, and other insect specimens from all over the world.

Cost: $7.50 per camper, HST included.

Minimum booking: 17 campers or $127.50 (HST included).

Supervision Ratio - 1:5. Adults/supervisors within this ratio receive free admission. Additional adults are given discounted admission of $11.50 (HST included) when added to your booking. Please collect payment from these adults ahead of time and include them in your payment for the group.

Day Camp Program - Ages 6-12

The Creepy Crawly Critter Show
A 30-minute game hosted by our specially trained 'Critter Keepers' (also known as interpreters!). The campers will be divided into two teams and will have a chance to spin the 'Wheel of Mystery' to learn their fate.

Youth Groups

Program Details

Our Youth Group Programs can be customized to include any of the educational components from our Education Programs or our Guide-Scout Programs, but will always include exploration of the following Discovery Centres:

In our tropical garden, youth will meet thousands of free-flying butterflies and watch them as they emerge from their chrysalides, dry their wings, and take their first flight into the Conservatory.

Insect Encounter and Gallery Exhibits
Participants will have the opportunity to meet some of our live tropical insects up close, look at the inner workings of a live observational beehive, and discover butterfly, moth, and other insect specimens from all over the world.

Booking

Booking Policies

Day Camp and Youth Group Programs must be booked at least 2 weeks in advance.

Payment must be made in one lump sum on the day of your visit. Groups who do not pay on the day of their visit and wish/need to be invoiced are subject to a $20.00 administration fee.

Cancellations must be made in writing at least 7 days prior to visit. Cancellations without written notice of at least 7 business days will result in a cancellation fee equivalent to the minimum booking ($127.50 or $102.00, depending on the program) per nature interpreter assigned to your group. Inclement weather is exempt.

No outside food or drink is permitted inside the facility. We have picnic tables available on a first-come-first-served basis but are unable to accommodate your group inside if it rains. Please make your visit preparations with this in mind.
